In search of change: law firms face new challenges.
- Are lawyers working more collaboratively? (…) the RSG Consulting team working with FT journalists concluded there was no simple answer to this question.
- Unlike other industries or the professional services sector, law firms have historically been able to raise prices and enjoy double-digit growth without delivering better quality service or new products. In effect, they have been able to maintain inefficient practices, while still growing their businesses.
- One of the most common complaints from clients about law firms centres on billing practices. Most firms in the UK, and to a lesser extent in continental Europe, have come to accept the need for transparency and predictability, and have relegated the hourly rate to one of several billing approaches.
- No big law firm has radically overhauled the compact it has with its people or partnership structure.
